News Briefs

Who: Travis Logan
What: First place winner in visual merchandising at district DECA Competition
When: Two weeks ago

Why: To qualify for nationals in Florida
How: By being first place in Nationals

Summary Lead, Version 1:
 
Summary lead, version 2: This years annual district DECA competition, local senior Travis Logan takes home first place for visual merchandising. Very excited of his win, he hopes to go into Nationals and go to Florida.


Summary lead, version 3: After so much had work put in to make it perfect his visual merchandising craft, Travis Logan,  takes home first place in the district DECA competition. He made his way up to Union College two weeks ago.


Story -  
After so much hard work put in to perfect his visual merchandising craft, Travis Logan, senior, takes home first place in the district DECA competition. He made his way up to Union College two weeks ago with his fellow Byrnehurst students to compete. 
            Travis is very excited to be heading to the state competition in April.  "My goal is taking first at state so I qualify for nations in Florida." Travis said. He's putting in all his effort to take home the prize and get to nationals and win it all. 


Story 2 - 


Who: Girls in grade 10 - 12
What: Color Guard try - outs
When: Tuesday May 25 - Thursday May 27
Where: School campus on the west side of the parking lot
Why: to fill 16 positions for next year's color guard
How: try - out

Summary lead, version 1: People interest in waving flags and dancing their butts off should start making their way to try outs which will be held west of the parking lot for Tuesday's color guard tryouts. There are only 16 positions on the team so girls need to try their best, be on time.

Summary lead, version 2: 16 positions, plenty of girls need to run to fill on next years color guard team. Girls in grades 10 through 12 are invited to come tryout from Tuesday May 25 through Thursday May 27 on the west side of the parking lot.

Summary lead, version 3: Colorguard try-outs are next week, and everyones very excited to try out, so girls come on in and try in at the west end of the parking lot.

Story - 
There are only 16 positions, plenty of girls ned to fill in on next years color guard team and girls. Girls in grades 10 through 12 are invited to come tryout from Tuesday May 25 through Thursday May 27 on the west side of the parking lot. 
                     Dance, coordination, rhythm, and flag-twirling ability are all needed to make the team and those chosen will going the marching band in the fall. The team performs during football season, basketball halftimes, and few select parades. 
                     The color guard hopes that many girls will be on the team, so if it is necessary, a second round of tryouts will take place the following week. To get your application in, pick one up from color guard adviser, Ms. Cindy Barker in room 103.

This is a photo of a building built in a urban area, surrounded by other buildings, something I'd think I'd see in downtown Austin.

This photo is up and close on detail of this building, you can see all the hard work it would take to construct a building as beautiful as this.

6. Is there a reason the building was created or the history of the building itself? It was build for a married couple, that had tremendous wealth.
7. Why did you pick this building? (write at least a paragraph on this question)
I picked this building because the name just sounded familiar to me, because I did a project on it once, and it's so beautiful the way it has those curtain like draped, it's a building you've never seen, it's just beautiful, it's somewhere i'd like to visit.

I randomly choose this one, but when I looked at it, it was just so cool, the way it's made like out of spheres, it looks like a rollercoaster ride or something, but it's really cool.

6. Is there a reason the building was created or the history of the building itself? No, not that I could find.
7. Why did you pick this building? (write at least a paragraph on this question)
This building is so cool, I would expect to see something like this in Austin, but this is, has to be one of the coolest libraries I've ever seen, the way that they got so creative to make a library out of books, it's kind of ironic really, it's something i'd want to visit.

6. Is there a reason the building was created or the history of the building itself? for an Expo 67
7. Why did you pick this building? (write at least a paragraph on this question)
This building because the way people think of building these things, it's crazy, how did all that hold up, imagine all the work that went into it, the money, everyones hard work, it's really cool.

4. Is it a private building or can you visit it? they're house, I THINK OPEN.
5. Is there information on how much it cost to build? NO.
6. Is there a reason the building was created or the history of the building itself? They were intended for a vacation resort.
7. Why did you pick this building? (write at least a paragraph on this question)
Because it had that futuristic vibe to it, it looks so cool, I would love to live in something like that, It would be really cool, the way they built it, shows creativity, sucks that they never got to finish it because of so many injuries and accidents in the making of these houses.
